Measured, observed, judgment: why every claim on this site carries a tag
A three-word vocabulary that makes never-fabricate enforceable — by humans, by tooling, and by the reader.

The agency industry has a numbers problem. "300% growth" appears on portfolio sites the way "world-class" does — as texture, not fact. Sophisticated buyers have learned to discount every metric they see, which means honest studios pay a credibility tax levied by dishonest ones.
Our answer is a vocabulary, applied to every claim we publish:
Measured — a real instrument recorded it, and the methodology is stated next to the number. If we can't tell you how it was measured, we don't get to use the word.
Observed — we saw it directly but didn't instrument it. "The build compiles to 130 pages with zero errors" is observed: verifiable, specific, but not a metric with a methodology.
Judgment — professional opinion, stated as such. Most design decisions live here, and there is no shame in it; the shame is in dressing judgment up as measurement.
Why tags beat good intentions
Every studio intends to be honest. The failure mode isn't villainy — it's the slow inflation of a Tuesday afternoon: a plausible number remembered generously, a client's anecdote rounded up into a statistic. Intentions don't survive deadlines. Vocabulary does, because a claim without a tag is visibly incomplete, and a claim with the wrong tag is checkable against the project record.
The tag is declared at the research stage — before anyone knows what would be convenient to claim. By the time a case study is written, the ceiling on its claims was set months earlier by evidence that's already filed.
The asymmetric payoff
Here's the part that surprised us: admitting judgment makes measurement believable. A portfolio where some projects say "judgment-level throughout" earns the right to be believed when another says "measured over 30 days, server logs." Selective honesty reads as marketing; systematic honesty reads as method.
The tags also do something quieter: they train us. Once every claim needs a level, you start designing measurement into projects early, because "measured" becomes a word you have to earn before launch, not retrofit after.
